Vinyl Queens! Black Women in the DJ Scene Art Exhibit Celebrates Women’s History Month in Chicago
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Vinyl Queens! Black Women in the DJ Scene Art Exhibit will spotlight the creativity, influence, and cultural impact of Black women DJs in Chicago. The free public event will take place at 345 Art Gallery on March 27, 2026. Presented by Imagery by Chioma LLC, the exhibit features a powerful photography series highlighting Black women DJs who are shaping the soundscape and pushing boundaries within DJ culture. Through striking portraiture and storytelling, the exhibit celebrates the artistry, resilience, and contributions of women in a space historically dominated by men.
Featured DJs include:
DJ Celeste
Jovan Landry (also known as DJ Plug Thug)
DJ Lori Branch
DJ Mo Milli
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the exhibit, participate in a 30-minute discussion with the featured DJs, and enjoy live DJ performances that bring the exhibit’s energy to life. Founded by photographer Yolanda Chioma Richards, Imagery by Chioma LLC has spent the past decade documenting powerful visual narratives that explore identity, culture, and lived experiences through photography. The exhibit will take place at 345 Art Gallery, a creative hub located in East Garfield Park known for celebrating community-driven art, murals, and exhibitions representing the culture and history of Chicago’s West Side. This free community event welcomes art lovers, music fans, and supporters of women in the arts. While admission is free, tickets are required for capacity purposes, and donations to support the featured artists are encouraged.
